Bureaux Coffee

With a roastery and coffeebar in Abbotsford, Melbourne,
Bureaux strives to produce and share remarkable coffee in a way that’s
socially and environmentally responsible, too.

2020 was the year the world went to soup. It was also the year Tim Williams launched Bureaux Coffee. I am humbled and grateful to have had the opportunity to play a key part in early growth during a time we all had to take the concept of resilience and navigation to a new level.

From March 2020 through to June 2021 it was a joy to directly contribute to the success and solidification of core brand identity, generation of new customers and return purchases, management and production of still and moving content, project management, and community engagement outreach.

The delivery and quality of key outputs I share here are a reflection of a business whom I respect, connect with, and have learnt so much.

Visual content creation: Photography.

Coffee and photography: Two of my favourite things in life. Coupling my belief in, and understanding of Bureaux’s personality and values, I produced considered, high-quality image assets to support key objectives.

Projects: Standart Japan.

One of my favourite projects to lead with Bureaux was a collaboration with the renowned coffee publication, Standart Japan. With every edition release, subscibers receive a sample of coffee from a roaster known and loved by Standart - and for the June release, Bureaux was the roaster of choice.

It was a treat to nurture this project from its inception 6 months prior - from logistic planning, to design management and visual assets - all 2500 samples that reached every subscriber was loved so much that in fact, Standart requested more samples.

This issue is the most successful issue of all time for Standart Japan in terms of subscription revenue(customer retention and new acquisition). This of course is due to the combination of all marketing efforts including Bureaux Coffee’s coffee, but from seeing how fast we are selling our subscription and the fact that we are very close to sold out after just a month of the release which we have never had before.

Brand alignment.

There is nothing like aligning two brands that were destined to make magic together. Cheesey but true. It’s up there with photography on the fulfillment I get when I match-make brands for the greater good. Aligning Bureaux with Creative Mornings Melbourne and SUSU Studio was incredibly enjoyable and, I can’t wait to see the incredible outcomes.

Creative Mornings, Melbourne.

Creative Mornings, Melbourne (CM) is a series of breakfast lectures for the creative community. Aligning CM with Bureaux Coffee to serve coffee at their in-person events allowed us to reach an audience that fits our customer persona, connect with the local community and support the creative industry.

SUSU Studio.

Susu Studio is a creative design company whose philosophy is curated with a playful approach. Commissioning Susu Studio for the 2021 World AeroPress Championship brand identity assured an outcome of a look and feel aligning perfectly with the fun personality of the event itself.
Design of the event’s identity is currently in development and to due be released soon via www.worldaeropresschampionship.com
